Novia handles dating data as sensitive personal information. We collect what we need to operate a verified dating service, protect members, and keep the platform reliable.
Who controls your data
Novia and its affiliated operators are responsible for the personal data processed through Novia web and mobile products. For privacy requests, contact privacy@novianow.com.
Data we collect
We collect account, profile, matching, verification, location, safety, communications, device, and support information. The exact data depends on the features you use and the verification steps required for your account.
How we use data
We use personal data to provide the service, verify members, recommend compatible introductions, run live video and chat features, send account notifications, prevent fraud, investigate reports, enforce rules, respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations.
Legal bases
Depending on your location, we rely on contract performance, consent, legitimate interests, legal obligations, vital interests, and public-interest or safety grounds where applicable. We do not use sensitive verification data for advertising.
Optional live presence check
When you explicitly agree to an optional live presence check, supported Novia mobile apps analyze camera frames on your device to measure face presence and requested movements. Novia does not upload or store the camera frames, photos, video, or audio from this check. The server receives only bounded action measurements, challenge timing, and basic app integrity flags needed to record the result and resist simple replay attempts.
Live dates and messages
Novia does not record live-date audio or video by default. Live-date text is sent through the peer video connection and is not stored by Novia. Messages sent after a connection are stored so both participants can use message history and safety tools. Stored connection messages are processed by Novia and should not be treated as end-to-end encrypted. Access is restricted to authorized systems and personnel for service operation, safety, support, and legal duties.
Sharing
We share data only where needed with hosting, security, analytics, communications, customer support, payment, and verification providers; with authorities when legally required; with a successor if Novia is reorganized; or with your direction or consent.
Retention
We keep account data while your account is active. We may retain limited safety, fraud, audit, legal, tax, or dispute records after deletion requests where necessary to protect members, enforce rules, or meet legal duties.
